You can view tracks and the surrounding area within the application using OSM or Google mapping schemes. Additionally, satellite images from Google or Mapbox provide the most detailed map of any area worldwide. The maps you view are saved offline on your phone for convenient access, making it ideal for OSM maps and Mapbox satellite images. Internet connection is only necessary for downloading map images; GPS signal alone is sufficient for recording and calculating track statistics.

While driving, you can enable the navigation mode which automatically rotates the map in the direction of travel, simplifying navigation.

The application provides the option to record tracks in the background (additional configuration in the system may be required on some devices). Power consumption in background mode is optimized so that the phone's battery will last an entire day of recording. You can also activate an economy mode via the app settings.

Geo Tracker calculates various statistics including:

 <li>Maximum and average speed on the track</li>
 <li>Time and average speed in motion</li>
 <li>Minimum and maximum altitude on the track, along with altitude difference</li>
 <li>Vertical distance, ascent, and speed</li>
 <li>Minimum, maximum, and average slope</li>
</ul>

In addition, detailed charts for speed and elevation data are available.

Recorded tracks can be saved as GPX, KML, and KMZ files, ensuring compatibility with popular applications like Google Earth or Ozi Explorer. It is worth noting that tracks are stored locally on your device and are not transferred to any servers.

This app does not generate revenue through advertisements or use personal data. However, users have the option to make voluntary donations to support its development.

If you encounter common GPS issues with your smartphone, the app provides useful tips and tricks to resolve them:

 <li>Allow some time for the GPS signal to be found when starting tracking</li>
 <li>Restart your smartphone and ensure an unobstructed view of the sky before starting (avoid high buildings and forests)</li>
 <li>Keep in mind that reception conditions can change due to factors such as weather, season, satellite positioning, areas with poor GPS coverage, high buildings, and forests</li>
 <li>Activate the "Location" setting in your phone's settings</li>
 <li>Activate the "Automatic date &amp; time" and "Automatic time zone" options in your phone's "Date &amp; time" settings. Having the correct time zone set can affect the time it takes to find a GPS signal.</li>
 <li>Deactivate airplane mode in your phone's settings</li>
</ul>
